Q. What kind of camera do I need?
A. Almost any digital camera will do, as long as you have the ability to download the images to your computer. If you have never downloaded images, check the camera owner’s manual to find out how.Q. Should I use a flash?
A. If it is possible, please take photos of the vehicle in a well-lit location. Outside shots are best, using natural light instead of a flash. A flash may reflect off the vehicle, which makes it harder for us to see the actual damage.Q. Do I need to take all the angles?
A. If possible, please take photos of all 4 corners of the vehicle. Also, take photos of the damage from these angles: straight on, upper left angle, lower left angle, upper right angle, and lower right angle. We review each submission carefully and may request additional photographs or ask you to visit our facility for a closer inspection.Q. Where can I find my vehicle’s VIN#?
A. A Vehicle Identification Number, or VIN, is a unique serial number used to identify individual vehicles. This number is located on the driver’s side of the dashboard and can be read from the outside of the vehicle. Please make sure you have written the number down correctly, as we may rely on the VIN as a confirmation of your vehicle’s exact year, make and model.Getting an accurate estimate relies on following a few easy steps to supply us with the best possible assessment of the damage. You will need to take a series of photos, download them to your computer and upload them via a simple web-form to our online database. If possible, we recommend taking pictures at a medium resolution to help with the uploading process. You may need to consult your camera’s operating manual for assistance.
